Why not visit one of the world’s scariest places instead of one of the travel destinations that sometimes seem to resemble paradise? There are some locations that are equally stunning and terrifying. There are numerous options, including enigmatic islands, desolate areas, and the bottom of the sea.
Bhangarh, India
Bhangarh is renowned for its enigmatic ruins. The city, which was halfway between Jaipur and Alwar, was abandoned at the end of the 18th century. According to legend, guru Balu Nath approved the construction of as long as his home wasn’t engulfed by the shadows of the temples. However, the entire city was cursed at the turn of the century when an ambitious builder erected a temple atop the deceased guru’s home.

Auschwitz concentration camp, Poland
Hitler’s Nazi regime used Poland’s largest concentration camp during World War II. There are estimates that between 1942 and the beginning of 1945, nearly three million people perished there. In January 1945, Soviet troops liberated Auschwitz. The camp, one of the most unsettling places on earth, is now open to tourists.
Winchester Mystery House, US
Sarah Winchester, the son of the rifle’s creator, sought the advice of a fortune teller after the deaths of her husband and son, who claimed that her family had been cursed by the ghosts of everyone who had perished as a result of the Winchester rifle. It was explained to Sarah that continuing the mansion’s construction was the only way to quell the spirits. Due to Sarah Winchester’s continued construction, the enormous property now has 160 rooms, no-where staircases, and doors that open to walls.
Tower of London, UK
The Tower of London was built in the 11th century during the reign of William the Conqueror, and it was used as a political prison and an execution site. It’s regarded as one of Britain’s most haunted structures. Anne Boleyn, Lady Jane Grey, and Thomas Beckett were among the ghosts reported to have appeared. Lady Jane Grey was seen by a guard on February 12, 1957, the 403rd anniversary of her passing.
The Death Road, Bolivia
At a height of more than 15,000 feet, the road passes through the Bolivian rainforest in the north. Sometimes, there is only enough room for one car to pass on the dirt road. The Death Road is frequently shrouded in fog, and according to records, there are 200 to 300 fatalities there each year.
