- Find My is still your ace in the hole: Even with SDP enabled, don’t forget the power of Find My. Locate your lost or stolen iPhone, put it in Lost Mode to disable Apple Pay and display a message for the finder, or remotely erase your data if all hope is lost.
Turning on SDP is a breeze:
- Head to Settings on your iPhone.
- Go to Face ID & Passcode (Touch ID & Passcode for older models).
- Enter your passcode.
- Scroll down and tap Stolen Device Protection.
- Simply hit Turn On Protection.
Remember, SDP isn’t a magic bullet:
- It only works on iPhones running iOS 17.3 or later.
- You need two-factor authentication enabled for your Apple ID.
- A strong passcode and enabled Face ID or Touch ID are essential prerequisites.
